Requirements for Return Visits

Thank you for your donation. We appreciate you!

Did you know we cannot use your first plasma donation—even if it passes safety testing—until you have donated a second time? This is because plasma collection is highly regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They require two separate tests on a person’s plasma to ensure it is safe to use in life-changing medicines and therapies.

That’s why your second donation is so important.

FDA regulations require all plasma donation centers to discard first-time donor plasma unless they have a second donation within six months. Both donations must be tested and approved for use.

To become an approved donor, we encourage you to schedule a second donation or series of donations within six months of your first completed appointment.

The good news is your plasma regenerates quickly (within 48 hours with proper hydration), which means approved donors can donate twice in any seven-day period—as long as they wait 48 hours between donations.

Donating regularly is the best way to ensure your plasma donations are used to create life-changing medicines and therapies for those who need them most.

If you have any questions or concerns, please read our frequently asked questions or schedule a consultation.
